Who is Jason Aikens?
A Neighbor,
Not a Politician
For Jason Aikens, serving Frederick County is a natural extension of a lifetime spent living, working, and giving back to the community. A lifelong resident of Winchester and Frederick County, Jason graduated from John Handley High School before earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Management from James Madison University in 2002.
Jason lives in the Gainesboro District with his wife of twenty years, April, and their two children, Kingston and Quinn. His parents, his brother, and his brother’s family are also rooted in the Gainesboro District. Outside of public service, Jason enjoys shooting sporting clays, hunting upland game, and maintaining an active commitment to physical fitness. He shares his home with two dogs, Yetti and Bernard. At the center of everything, however, is his family and the business his family has built together — the twin passions that drive his approach to both work and community service.
His leadership is grounded in decades of real-world business experience. Beginning in the family business at age sixteen, Jason learned every level of the hospitality industry before helping grow Aikens Group into a family enterprise employing more than 300 people across construction, real estate, and hospitality.
That same commitment to service has shaped Jason’s involvement in the community. Prior to joining the Board of Supervisors, he served four years on the Frederick County Planning Commission, building a strong understanding of growth, zoning, and land use. He also serves as a Trustee of Valley Health and on the Board of Directors of First National Corporation, and has volunteered with organizations including NW Works, the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, the Winchester Frederick County Law Enforcement Foundation, and numerous other civic organizations throughout the region.
Why He’s Running
Frederick County is growing. That growth needs direction.
Jason’s decision to serve on the Frederick County Planning Commission came from a desire to help shape the county’s future rather than simply react to its growth. Over four years on the Commission, he saw the need for stronger long-term planning and realized that creating meaningful change would require serving on the Board of Supervisors.
Jason believes county government should be managed with the same principles that guide successful businesses—disciplined budgeting, strategic capital planning, transparency, and accountability. He is encouraged by the progress the current Board has made and is committed to building on that foundation with thoughtful, common-sense leadership.
